As the new year begins managers will be planning in annual learning and development opportunities for their teams, but it’s also important for owners, nominated individuals and registered managers themselves to plan in learning and development for registered managers too. We round up some of the opportunities available.
Registered manager membership and networks
Â鶹ŮÀÉ is the for registered managers, and we have a wide range of support available for our members including access to exclusive resources, monthly newsletters, and the opportunity to give or receive mentoring.
Through our newsletters and access to exclusive resources, including the ‘Social care manager’s handbook’, managers can gain useful insights and inspiration to help further their skills and knowledge. Mentoring is also a great way to work on continuous professional development and learn new ways of working.
We also offer peer support for registered managers through our which are open to all registered managers, and which we know have been a vital source of support for managers during the challenges of the pandemic. Our networks provide a place to connect with others in the same position, and discuss challenges and successes.
Networks are also a great opportunity to share learning and for managers to discover new ways to approach challenges, gain inspiration for new ideas they can introduce to their service, and find out about training opportunities. The networks also host regular events to share learning and insights.
Our is also open to all registered managers and is another great place to connect and discuss ideas and issues.
Workforce Development Fund
The is funding from the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) which is distributed by Â鶹ŮÀÉ.

This year the funding will continue to be enhanced for leadership and management training, making it an ideal source for funding learning and development for your registered managers.
All employers in England have access to the fund, whether it’s claiming via your local partnership, a national partnership, or directly from Â鶹ŮÀÉ. You need to be registered for Â鶹ŮÀÉ’s Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS) to access the WDF so make sure to sign-up and make use of this and all the other benefits ASC-WDS brings.
